Domain search is functionally similar to email address inquiry but instead attempts to detect possible patterns a specific company uses.
Domain search only requires the domain name – no first or last name is necessary.
How to perform a Domain Search
Enter a valid domain or company name into the field.
Click Search. Email Finder will analyze in real time the most probable email address patterns used by the company and, if successful, will provide the most likely email domain pattern(s).
Your results will include a list of the most common patterns used by the domain, along with a confidence score. If a format is found, your search will consume one query or 20 credits.
Example result:
- Result - first.last@company.com - High confidence
Based on this pattern, the probable email address is - john.smith@company.com
You can use detected patterns to help you approximate the correct email for a specific person you’re attempting to contact at a business.
The confidence score indicates the likelihood that the email address pattern is in use. Email Finder uses the following confidence scores:
- High confidence - The highest level of confidence; the format is likely in use based on validation results
- Medium confidence - Medium level of confidence; the format may be in use
- Low confidence - Unlikely to be in use and a high risk
If no email domain pattern could be identified during the search, the response will be "Format Undetermined."

Finally, an error will occur if you need more credits or subscription queries on your account. If you receive this error, update your account to have at least 20 credits per successful result or upgrade your monthly subscription to a plan that provides additional queries.
Bulk Domain Search
The Bulk Domain Search allows the user to upload a .CSV, .XLS, .XLSX, or .TXT file containing multiple queries. To be processed, the file must include a mandatory domain or company column.
As with the Single Domain Finder, the user will be charged only for successful results (Format Found), with one subscription query or 20 credits per result.

Step 1 – Upload a new file by clicking the New Bulk Search button. You can upload the file from local storage or through one of the available cloud integrations.

Step 2 – Once the file is updated, the automatic mapping of the domain column is attempted. If the domain column has not been mapped, the user must manually map it.

Step 3 – At this step, the number of queries identified in the file is displayed, along with the queries/credits required for processing the file

Step 4 – After the file is processed, a summary with the search results will be displayed.
The possible search results are as follows:
- Format Found – A domain pattern was found, and one subscription query or 20 credits will be deducted for this result.
- Undetermined – No domain pattern was found, and no queries or credits will be deducted.
- Wrong Format – If an incorrect domain format was provided or the domain column was not correctly mapped, no queries or credits will be deducted.
- Duplicate Searches – Rows containing identical information in all columns.
Step 5 – The final step is downloading the results, which the user can do by clicking on the download icon displayed in Step 4. The user can then select the information they want to add to the results file, which they will download.
