Email Warmup FAQ
What is email Warmup?
Email warmupⓘ is an email deliverabilityⓘ tool that boosts your domain's reputation. The Warmup tool sends a small percentage of emails to seed email addresses, which yield positive engagement signals, like favoriting your email, opening it, or marking it as "not spam". As your reputation improves, Warmup will send increasingly higher volumes of emails to continue boosting and maintaining your email domain's reputation.
Who should use the email Warmup tool?
Anyone who sends bulk emails to a mailing list can benefit from email warmupⓘ. If your email domain doesn't have a history of sending bulk emails, ISPs won't trust a sudden increase in volume and will relegate your emails to the spam folder. Warmup helps senders avoid this issue by automatically sending a small percentage of emails from the domain with a gradual ramp-up in volume. Through this act of "warming up" your domain, ISPs will see the positive engagement signals and learn to trust your emails, allowing them to reach the inbox successfully.
Is the email warmup automated?
The email warmupⓘ provides a fully automated option in which ZeroBounce manages the process for you. After completing the initial setup, ZeroBounce will handle the sending and interactions for you. You can monitor your Warmup progress by checking your Inbox Score from your dashboard.
What's the difference between the manual method and the ZeroBounce-managed method?
Our email warmupⓘ provides two options: the automated method, which ZeroBounce fully manages. Users can make adjustments, disable, or delete the service at any time. The manual method provides users with the seed email addresses so that they can send their Warmup emails manually using their email service provider.
How many emails should I send with the email warmup tool?
We recommend sending emails equivalent to approximately 0.1% of your typical daily sending volume, as this is the recommended maximum for possible negative engagement signals (e.g., being reported as spam). This is a general starting recommendation, but your actual recommended volume can differ depending on your domain's current reputation, sending volume, and desired engagement rules. Use the AI Warmup Wizard featured with the Warmup tool to find the optimal volume.
What types of email authentication methods are supported?
Warmup currently supports Gmail/G-Suite, Office 365/Outlook, Proton, and SMTP connections.
How do I choose when the Warmup emails are sent?
In the Advanced Rules portion of the setup, you can choose when to start Warmup, what your time zone is, and whether to send emails daily or only on weekdays. You can also access this menu by clicking on your Warmup account and selecting Settings.
How can I filter the Warmup emails from other emails?
You can quickly filter Warmup emails by setting up identifiers in the Settings menu. Locate Email Identifiers and enter any alphanumeric characters you wish to use as keywords. When sending your Warmup emails, we'll use these possible keywords in our replies. You can search for these identifiers to locate your Warmup emails.
Does the email warmup tool check for SPF, DKIM, or DMARC alignment?
Our email warmupⓘ tool automatically checks for SPF, DKIM, and DMARC alignment with the associated domain. It's recommended that you use Warmup in conjunction with the DMARC Monitorⓘ tool so that you can manage everything from one account.
How do I disable an email warmup account?
To disable an email warmup account, locate it in your list of Warmup domains. On the right, click the ellipses and click Disable.
If I disable an email warmup account, will it retain my information?
Yes, we retain your email warmupⓘ history. You will only lose your information if the account is deleted.
How do I edit my sender information or engagement rules?
